Welcome to our website for hand-crafted wooden hollow surfboards and other surf/wood inspired products by Tom Stefanyk (AKA "Steve"). Located on Canada's west coast these surfboards are built entirely of wood. No foam core, just wood.
West Coast Woodyz hollow surfboards are lightweight, yet durable. Hand-made glassed on fins, make each one a unique "looker". Take a tour of our surfboards page. As new ones become available, we will update this page with pictures and info. Check out the gallery page to see some past/present pictures of our products, trips - both surf and non-surf-related. The "Woodyz Blog" link (at the top of each page) will be our way to keep you posted on any new projects, ideas or just to share a recent surf adventure. We surf what we build so we can tell you how a new board design is performing. We're not about to "quit the day jobs". We do this as a side-line hobby, because we love boards, love to surf and love the lifestyle. Designing and building the boards serves as a "cure" for our "surf itch" between sessions. Not many are made each year - we aren't out to mass produce these boards and we plan to keep it that way. In this industry we have met some of the best individuals who all share a common thread - surfing. It's all about the ride. As the saying goes "a bad day surfing beats a good day working". Why wood boards? Wood is good! They look great and get noticed! Wood has high floatation, rides better in the chop and the flats and above all, they're not disposable (great for the environment or your wall!)
